Aria, with its unrivaled vista over the Opera House, stands as a titan of fine dining. My recent degustation was met with immense anticipation, and while the experience was undeniably proficient, it proved a study in competence rather than outright revelation. It earned a respectful nod but lacked the visceral 'wow' factor expected from an establishment of this caliber. Setting the Scene: The setting remains Aria’s most potent asset a cinematic backdrop of elegance. Crucially, the service was exemplary: deeply attentive, yet unintrusive, with staff demonstrating a refined knowledge that enhanced the ritual of dining. The Sonoma bread and initial complimentary starters were a perfect, high note prelude. The Culinary Composition: Moments of Brilliance, Pockets of Doubt The kitchen delivered moments of genuine finesse. The blue swimmer crab was delicate and balanced, and the market fish with its stuffed zucchini accompaniment showed skilled execution. The dark horse of the evening was the quail, which offered surprising depth and complexity. However, the experience was not without its stumbles. The Wagyu, a supposed highlight, was regrettably flawed. Despite being beautifully cooked externally, the cut was overly chewy and excessively fatty, creating a significant textural impedance. Similarly, the asparagus course white or green felt narratively weak, existing as an isolated element rather than a meaningful component of the menu's progression. The final dessert was technically intricate, offering a myriad of elements in one bite, but ultimately lacked the decisive, memorable flavour profile that defines a successful culinary crescendo. The Final Assessment Despite the unevenness of this specific tasting menu, particularly the missteps with the Wagyu and the understated asparagus, Aria’s overall commitment to quality shines through. The impeccable service and breathtaking ambiance elevate the entire occasion. While this menu didn't reach the expected heights, the ho

Sitting right in front of the Opera House at ARIA Restaurant, with the Harbour Bridge just behind us, it feels like one of the most stunning spots in the world for a sunny Sunday lunch. I really recommend coming here on a Sunday! And then going for a stroll after your meal around the Opera House and into the Botanical Gardens. We went for the 3-course lunch menu: I had the Jurassic Quail to start, the Kinross Lamb Loin for main, and the Matcha dessert to finish, with some amazing small bites in between. Every dish was lovely! They also have a great mocktail selection, I recommend the Yuzu Muse. Everything on the menu is halal-certified, which is a nice touch. The only two minor things I’d mention: the matcha dessert was on the sour side rather than sweet. It still tasted delicious, just not the usual sweet matcha I’m used to, but it was definitely unique. The other was that the staff kept checking if I wanted a drink. I was happy with my sparkling water, but after the sixth or seventh time they asked, I decided to go with a mocktail instead. Service throughout was impeccable. The staff were lovely and even let us take photos after our meal, a small gesture that meant a lot to me as a content creator, and it’s pretty rare at fine dining venues. If you’re in Sydney and want an unforgettable lunch with views, ARIA is the place. Instagram @bhav.xo for more

Aria is truly one of the best dining experiences in Sydney. The service was outstanding, everything ran smoothly from start to finish, and the food was exceptional. We loved the attention to detail in each dish and the thoughtful wine pairing options. They even organised a cake for us, which made the experience extra special. We had the two-course meal — the duck was definitely the highlight!

This establishment is a highly-regarded dining destination in Sydney. The culinary offerings were exceptional, complemented by professional and amiable service. The ambiance was delightful, enhanced with views of the Sydney Opera House and The Harbour Bridge. The wine selection was extensive. It is highly recommended to visit when you are in Sydney.

The food was absolutely exceptional. I’ve never spent nearly four hours enjoying a tasting menu, but the experience here was so unforgettable that time simply flew by. Sitting by the window with a breathtaking view of the Opera House made every course even more special. A once in a lifetime dining experience that I will never forget. ✨🥂❤️

The entire experience was exceptional, beginning with the stunning view, followed by the attentive staff, and culminating in the exquisite cuisine. From start to finish, it was truly remarkable. I indulged in the 5-course tasting menu, and every dish was outstanding. While the food may take some time to arrive, it is certainly worth the wait.

My partner and I dined at Aria last night to celebrate our anniversary, and it was truly an exceptional experience from start to finish. The cuisine was exquisite, beautifully presented, and full of flavour. The views were stunning, creating the perfect backdrop for a special evening. Most notably, the service was exemplary! The staff were warm, attentive, and genuinely engaging. Though we have had many experiences with fine dining, Aria stood out in a way few others have. The staff struck the perfect balance of professionalism and personality, effortlessly matching our energy and sharing light-hearted banter throughout the evening. Their attentiveness was remarkable, with one server even gifting us a beer in honour of our celebration, a thoughtful gesture that didn’t go unnoticed! Regrettably, I didn’t catch his name. Every team member we interacted with showed the same level of dedication. My drink recommendation was perfectly tailored to my palate, enhancing the overall dining experience. The portions were generous, the food delectable, and the entire evening memorable in every way. A 10/10 experience. I highly recommend Aria and look forward to returning soon.

A last minute trip via ferry to Circular Quay yesterday Friday 3d October 2025. We toured the Opera House & then per chance we looked up & noticed the ‘Aria’ restaurant with its glass facade overlooking the harbour & the iconic Harbour Bridge. We didn’t have a reservation but were fortunate to be early enough to secure seating. What an excellent experience we had. The staff were simply a joy & made our lunch experience memorable We chose two courses each, the ‘aged duck’ & the ‘Chris Bolton wild caught fish’ with a side of royal blue mashed potato. For dessert we had ‘matcha coconut & citrus’ & ‘milk chocolate, honey & hazelnut.’ This truly delighted my taste buds. We paired the meal with a delicious Pino Gri. I can truly say that we haven’t tasted food this good for a very long time. So many tantalising flavours, I mean food that really had flavour, the fish actually had taste !…not drowned in sauce that hide the true taste was such a joy. Will we return ?…. We live on the Central Coast NSW but visit family in Sydney regularly, so the answer is ….most certainly & we will be happy to share our excellent experience with friends & family also. Thank you to the chef & staff for a lovely time. Gail & Ron Reed.

We are traveling from Taiwan for family vacation. Glad able to book here to celebrate CNY. We had 5-course dinner with Oysters. The food is superb: Australia Wagu / Lamb are beyond this earth. I like to specially thank our sommelier Mimi: premium&prestige wine pairings are fascinating and full of knowledge. I ended up buying one bottle of Izway Australia shiraz. We will definitely visit again next time here in Sydney.

The food looked great and tasted even better. Everything was nicely presented, and you could tell a lot of care went into each dish. The flavors were spot on, and it just felt like a really well made, satisfying meal. And the mashed potatoes? Honestly, the best I’ve ever had. Super creamy, smooth, and perfectly seasoned I could’ve eaten a whole bowl of just that.
